§ 2-31. Regular and special meetings.

(a)

Time. There shall be two (2) regular meetings of the city council for each calendar month. The first meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m., Eastern Standard Time or daylight savings time, whichever is applicable, on the first Thursday of each calendar month. The second meeting shall be at 5:30 p.m., Eastern Standard Time or daylight savings time, whichever is applicable, on the third Thursday of each calendar month. From 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. the city council may conduct such work sessions, study sessions and closed sessions as may be necessary in its discretion. Beginning at 7:00 p.m. the city council may conduct such other business as it deems necessary. Nothing herein shall be deemed to preclude closed sessions as may otherwise be authorized by law.

(b)

Place. All regular and special meetings of the city council shall be held in the council chambers of the municipal building located on Goldsboro Street in the city, unless otherwise specifically provided in the call for such meeting.
